Crispy Potato Chaat Recipe
Crispy Potato Chaat is a quick and delicious Indian snack made with shallow-fried baby potatoes, creamy yogurt, tangy tamarind sauce and simple spices. It is perfect for evening tea time or as a party starter.
🥔 Ingredients :
• 12–15 baby / mini potatoes
• Oil – for shallow frying
• ½ cup fresh yogurt (curd)
• 2–3 tablespoons water (to dilute yogurt)
• 1 small onion – finely chopped
• 1 green chilli – finely chopped
• 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
• Tamarind chutney – as needed
• ½ teaspoon roasted cumin seeds – crushed
• Red chilli powder – to taste
• Salt – to taste
👩🍳 Method :
1) Wash the baby potatoes and boil them with skin on until about 90% cooked.
2) Let the potatoes cool slightly.
3) Gently press each potato and flatten it carefully.
4) Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the flattened potatoes on both sides until they become crispy and golden.
5) In a bowl, add yogurt and dilute it with a little water to make it smooth and pourable.
6) Keep the chopped onion, green chilli and coriander ready.
7) For serving, place the crispy potatoes in a serving bowl.
8) Pour the prepared yogurt over them.
9) Add tamarind chutney, chopped onion, green chilli and coriander leaves on top.
10) Finally, sprinkle crushed roasted cumin seeds, red chilli powder and salt.
Your Crispy Potato Chaat is ready to serve.
